The Utah Medical Association Alliance is a nonprofit, volunteer organization of approximately 1,200 physicians' spouses.  It is a federation made up of seven organized county alliances within the state.  Membership in this organization is automatic once your physician spouse joins the Utah Medical Association.

 Leadership development programs are designed to help prepare members for their leadership roles within the Alliance as well as in positions within their community where they may be representing the Alliance. 

County Alliances provide leadership and resources for community health education and services in their respective communities. Cooperative efforts with other organizations such as PTAs, hospitals, and government agencies promote community health seminars and educational programs within the schools. County Alliance choirs provide entertainment to the elderly, schools and hospitals.

The state Alliance serves as a resource to the county Alliances.  At their meetings, health promotion ideas are shared and exchanged and resources for additional ideas are provided.

Legislative advocacy opportunities are provided with our annual Day at the Legislature where physicians and their spouses have an opportunity to meet state legislators and discuss with them health related issues.

Our annual convention provides an opportunity for all State Alliance members to meet each other and learn about various issues affecting health.

American Medical Association Alliance

The American Medical Association Alliance is the largest organization representing the family of medicine in the United States. The Alliance network of physicians and physicians' spouses represents all stages of the medical lifestyle, from training years to retirement. The mission of the AMA Alliance is to partner with physicians to build healthy communities and support the family of medicine.
